This is a music video for Amplifier. I worked on this with a few friends back in London: Adriano Gazza, John Angless and Laura Henry. It’s pretty psychedelic so sit back, relax and, in the words of Kuato, open your mind…
I recently made a showreel video for the Away3D team, showcasing the fantastic work people have produced using their real-time 3D engine. The video was shown as part of Rob Bateman‘s recent presentation at LFPUG.
Barilla have a mission to bring the wonders of Italian cuisine to the world. They have tasty products for every meal in the day, from breakfast to dinner. The “Barilla Day” begins with a family eating breakfast, before we head to Paris for lunch, finally travelling across the ocean to New York, where we find attractive 20-somethings having a dinner party.
We used a 2.5D animation technique, where high-resolution photography was broken into layers and reassembled in 3D space in After Effects. I worked alongside my old allies, Mike Rigley and Tim Foster, on this project.
Sit-up Channels hired me to create some motion graphics for a TV advert. Tri-Pentox is an anti-aging and anti-wrinkle skincare product boasting the latest scientific research and advanced chemical agents. I used this as the basis for my design. My concept was to start a camera move at the subcutaneous level, where tri-pentox does its work and where we would see molecules in action, and then pull back to reveal the beautiful, smooth-skinned model.
Emirates were promoting a service where a traveller’s favoured destinations, representing their ‘travel fingerprint’, would be logged and allow Emirates to make their journeys easier by finding local amenities and areas of interest. I worked on an animation prototype to demonstrate how the service would work.
Nakheel Blue Communities “is a call to action for the world”. It is an initiative to develop and protect coastlines around the world, positing that by 2010 80% of the planet’s population will be living close to the sea. I was hired to work on a promotional video for use online and on in-flight video systems aboard aircraft flying to Dubai.
I have always liked stop-motion animation for its organic and slightly quirky feel. Digitas were working on a series of banners for Ericsson featuring skateboarders and asked me to shoot a stop-motion sequence of a pair of hands making an origami skateboard and performing some tricks.
The IBM Pitch gave me the chance to make a hip hop montage, something that is always enjoyable to do, for a pitch.
This project gave me the opportunity to use my After Effects knowledge to enhance what could have been a fairly flat animation into something with more visual impact and energy. The VXR Great White was marketed as the motoring embodiment of the power and danger of a Great White shark. It was my task to find a way to transform a shark into a car.
